Operation of the wing fur

This operation is also performed under local anesthesia. The pathologically altered conjunctiva must be surgically removed if it grows towards the center of the cornea and endangers vision or causes problems. In order to prevent the diseased conjunctiva from growing again, I always perform this operation with an autologous conjunctival transplant: healthy conjunctiva from the affected eye is removed from under the upper eyelid and fixed in the area of the previously removed diseased conjunctiva. The recurrence of the wing fur could be reduced from more than 30% to less than 1% with this method.
